Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self. ~Cyril Connolly

Last year, I believe it was, my cousin Angie was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease. The doctors found it from a simple urine test on a regular office visit. She was placed on the kidney transplant list. Recently, my mom told me she was getting very close to going on dialysis. Last night the doctors called Angie and said they had a kidney! Angie, my Uncle Tony, and Aunt Joan drove from Green Sea to Charleston and had to be there before midnight. This morning she had the surgery and it was a success! My mom and dad went down today to see her in the hospital. At the time I called, she was sleeping. I just want to praise God for providing this kidney for her and I pray that she lives a full and healthy life. I love you Angie and you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope I get to come down and see you soon. Thank you Lord for all you have provided for my family!

The Roads Forgotten
Roads forgotten through the sands of time, take me back to a simpler place. Those days have long faded into complexity and a race to beat the clock. Slowing down is near impossible, but it's what I long for.
I hold dearest to me my childhood and nostalgia fills my thoughts. A time when playgrounds became battlefields and bedsheets-forts. It was these times that I was happiest. Another moment I miss were the times I'd sit in my Daddy's lap and steer the old blue van through the neighborhood while he corrected my attempts to take on mailboxes. :)
I want my dirt roads back, my green fields, the pastures of horses and cows. A place where people could support themselves and the community was intertwined. Front doors never locked and fence posts only served as a landmark for a foot race. I turn my head from the modern world of office jobs and science before morals.Time has sped up on me, if only I could take the clock off the wall. Deadlines, due dates, minute-to-minute schedules. These don't belong in my time.
Nature where I find my peace, clear my mind, and marvel at the creations my God has set before my eyes.
My wish....for my roads forgotten to once again discovered.

Decisions Decisions
Me...make decisions? It's a tough concept. Most people who know me know that I am awful at making a quick decision. It seems like all my life, and still today, I look towards other people to make decisions for me. I don't know if this is some kind of abstract result of something in my childhood or what. So I think it's about time I start working on this, don't you think? I guess the starting point would be baby steps. Feel free to leave any tips! I need to become more independent.
